Hi all. Just got my 2010 CBR and I'm loving it. It's completely standard at the moment. Just wondered what the best or most important mods are for this bike. I just got rid of my ZZR and the most important thing was to remove the secondary flies as they strangled the first three gears. Any definate mods things I should be doing?

    Welcome fellow Notts biker,

Most usually get rid of the standard exhaust and fit an after market sip on. The oem is quiet and weighs a ton. You will need to do the exhaust servo mod or buy a servo eliminator to stop the error code on the dash appearing.

Apart from that, it is a great bike as it is. But, you can add a bazazz or power commander, quickshifter, gear indicator, rear sets, brembo master cylinder etc etc.

Braided lines are also a good start if yours are oem.

Get a rad guard as a must.

The mudguard is only really for show and will not stop stones etc. Google the price of a new rad compared to a rad guard and you'll see the immediate benefits.

If its power you want then drop the fron t sprocket by 1 tooth and increase the rear by 2 teeth, it will feel like you have added another 25bhp ;)

    Cheap too :D

There are many cosmetic additions that can be applied for appearance. I'm sure we have all different thoughts to make our bike pleasing to all.
There is 3 things I would look at. You've bought a super bike for a reason, thus I would require improvement in the braking system. I've installed a brembo master cylinder with braided lines.
Secondly acceleration, as mentioned already, change your gearing, if your enjoying the A class roads.
3rd is setting your suspension up correctly. Show room/ manufacturing set up is a base line, where all varying in weight. The suspension improves handling.
Above mentioned comments have all got value.
Your jumping from a zzr, to a sports bike,
Best mod, would be to adjust to riding a blade. It will take time.
    Enjoy your riding.

For me the spec of the bike was excellent hence bought one. Happy with the power, and weight. my focus has been on the paintwork:
rad-guard + fender extender + extended rear hugger to cope with our crap and stone filled urban roads. I should have also had protection skink put on the front panels but at the time (2008) I was not happy with what was available.
I finally had the suspension softened as I found the condition of the roads were making me very uncomfortable.
The exhaust was replaced after one year (rusting) but I have learned to look after it and it is serving me well. If I were to replace it, I would look at one (akro) which will retain all the fuelling control features of the bike.
Oh I also fitted a DB screen
