It's that time again were I need to change the oil. What are you guys all using at the moment? Some folk say I should fill it will silkolene, others say motul etc?

It's easy to get confuse with viscosities and synthetics so thought ide ask the question!

It's a toss up between ground nut and olive oil for me, but it really depends on whether you're stir-frying or dressing a salad.

Outside of culinary applications, I use the same as Robin. Why? Because the sticker on my frame says Honda recommends it.

as long as it's a quality oil and not some cheapo rubbish then it will be fine.

Honda recommend whoever's willing to pay them the most.

Nearly all oil comes from the same base oil from the same manufacture from the same tanker even. It's then down to the individual oil companies like Motul, Castrol, Silkolene etc. who then add their own blend of additives to come up with their own oils.

Silkolene Pro4 fully synthetic 10-40 has been tested to 16000 miles before any signs of degradation in quality and protection. I was talking to a chemist who works for Silkolene recently quite an interesting bloke, in small doses.

Yup Castrol 1 racing for me also. If it's good enough for Arthur, then it's good enough for me.

I've got a confession to make! I feel so guilty but………….

I put my bike in for a service last month and when I went to pick it up I asked what oil they used so that I could keep using the same one if I had to top up.

    The mechanic replied……..

I'll take myself to the naughty corner now!

I have been converted by Silkolene it transformed my CBR 600 much quieter, smoother with a big improvement in gear change also when I got my Blade it had Silkolene Race pro in it according to the last service invoice and since putting Castrol 10w30 in it I have noticed more vibes, a notchy gearbox and definitely not as smooth! Castrol sponsor Honda that's the only reason why they recommend Castrol! And it doesn't mean it's the best for the bike!

Ohh!! Zee try Grape seed oil on your Scroat! Your plums will be way softer mate :D
