Seriously considering tracking the blade. Its a 2010 model so from what I've been told the rear shock is crap. What's say the top 3 rear shocks that I could put on it, obviously an ohlins would be nice but they are about a grand lol. Cheers
Ohlins dude stalk ebay, tdr, moto forum end of season soon loads of bikes getting stripped and new stuff built for next year. I've done same my zx6rr gets picked up tommorow gonna race fairing the BMW and get a suspension setup.
Yeah need to have a think, gonna refresh the snigger over winter, new paint job, touch up frame and swing arm, full akky system and custom map, might drop the engine out and test for compression and maybe refresh it (need a work bench first!). spending so much money but it's money well spent, life would be so boring if I didn't have this shit goin on!
K-Tech stuff is awesome, but I have just fitted a Nitron pro race to my R6 and it is superb. Have a chat with James of InFront motorcycles at Oulton. Very good bloke and knows his stuff. Can introduce you to him if you like.
I just wanna survive my last trackday without crashing. It's as much a catch up and natter with the lads as a day out on the bike for me on wednesday
Same here, just want to get some tracktime without any pressure, time to set the bike up properly. Will be good to have a good old natter too.
Ohlins , Maxton , Nitron , ktech , are all excellent , Got a Ohlins on my 06 , excellent ride quality ,
Personally an ohlins fan but as has been said, I would strongly recommend upgrading the front as well. IMO, when I upgraded the rear it showed up the crap front suspension even more as I was able to push much harder, although I had the front set up and weight matched spring and oil at the same time it still let the bike down. Now the front has been rebuilt I have the balance right, both the front and rear handle sublimely.
The 2012 shock is very good and best value upgrade. If you decide it's still not good enough you can easily re-sell it and get almost all your money back. Why track the blade? Look for cheap 2nd hand body panels , clock mount bracket and a cheap headlamp, mirrors can be removed in 5 minutes, add a quick shifter and re gear it for track and you have a belting road and track bike.
Maxton is good kit, my old mates Victor Cox and Filip Backlund are testing their set ups in BSB 1000 superstocks,on Kawasakis. 3rd and 4th at the moment i think.
Have a pop to see Gareth at Reactive suspension, Tyke (if you haven't already). He really knows his stuff. From memory he sells WP shocks for Blades.
