As the title really. I know it's a no brainer and pheasant/partridge are almost an every day occurrence on our roads. However. With game season soon to be in full swing, pheasants/partridge will be driven away from the safety of their rearing pens and feeders, making the birds roam more, as they are pushed into the open, thus increasing the chances of contact with motorists and motorcyclists alike. Pheasant/partridge ain't much road sense at the best of times, But A "pricked" bird, Ie one that's got half of farmer Parrs No6 shot peppered in its arsehole is even more so. Be careful out there. If you are unlucky enough to have a collision with one. Let me know, I've a cracking load of recipes
I hit one of them a couple of years back up in Bilsdale. Came over the crest of a rise at some mph and there were three of the feckers at the bottom of the hill. 2 on the right of the road and 1 on the left. Plenty of space for me to just sail through the middle if everyone just stayed where they were but ohhhhh no. The middle one did an about-face and started to run back across the road. Hit my right suspension fork and pretty much disintegrated. Fortunately it didn't hit the brake lines or screw anything up. It was a helluva thump though. The worst bit was having to remove the fairings and hose all of the entrails out of them when when I got home
One of those emergency services shows on ITV recently went to the aid of a biker who had hit a pheasant full in the face whilst doing 60... made an absolute mess of the poor blokes face... I had always thought a visor would offer more protection than that.
Having only read the title I couldn't agree with you more, they can't be trusted, the poach my salmon, take rabbits from my fields and have sex in my hunting lodge when im not looking. I let them live on my land and they take advantage, bloody peasant if I didn't need them to look down upon I would have them shot.

I hit one near the ton :s from the bars forward there was nothing left, even smashed the alloy clock mounting bracket. nothing left of the bird apart from feathers...so one is now on my garage wall

Just remember one thing fellas it against the law to pick a pheasant up if you run it over but it's ok if someone behind you picks it up , strange I know but very true .

was only one large feather left, the rest was all tiny bits.couldnt even see where the head and body went.bike behind me said it looked like a firework going off with a large explosion of stuff in all directions.
