Hi all, first post on here hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I was out riding, stopped for a coffee then went to start bike and wont crank?? RAC tested battery, fuel pump primes, just nothing when I press start. It will bump start. I lost fuel cap on same ride but doubt that has anything to do with it. Changed kickstand switch but still nothing.
Starter sounds suspect if it will bump but not crank. Can’t see it being a side stand switch or other (clutch, kill, tip, etc) switch as if one of these were suspect it wouldn’t bump. Check starter connections and confirm it has a supply (and earth)
To be fair you could have just bridged the plug for the side stand switch. I would start with bridging the starter relay to check if the starter motor works. Alternatively check the clutch switch if the fuses are all ok.
Have you used it much lately? Might just be corrosion on the switch and need a little contact cleaner. Might be an idea to get a multi meter.
