Well after my little accident. Would the tip over switch be the cause. Because it layed on its side for so long. ? I have no ignition. Mayb it could be the earth wire on hm shifter snapped when I put the tank on ? Any ideas plz ?
Switch should reset once it is upright unless it took a big enough knock to move it. Obvious things like the kill switch and also the side stand spring to mind if it got knocked into gear.
Does it turn over? Does the fuel pump prime? Tilt switch will stop pump priming but will still turn over
Hmm runs with the hm quick shifter taken off . Do they have a letter box I could drop it through the door this eve ?
+1 on that! I forgot to put the earth off my shifter on a few days before a trackday. Full blown panic mode for a couple of minutes lol
If it's a hm shifter You can test if it's a shifter issue by unplugging the harness from the other end then on the harness side of plug loop the connections. This way it will think there is no shifter connected, if it then starts then that's your issue
Sorry not explained it very well lol Arthur showed me how, I'm sure he will explain it better shortly
You just need to use a piece of wire to short the coil pack end of the HM loom. Pull the plug that joins the 2 parts of the HM loom apart and insert the end of a piece of wire into the 2 contacts coil pack side which completes the circuit and if it's the QS that is the problem the bike will start. Always good to know if your QS starts playing up on track. Means you can at least ride the rest of the day.
Well iv done that and it turns out the quick shift box must be at fault. So il send it to hm tommorow. So I bought this on moto forum at the end of last year. On,y got round to fitting it now so I spose he knew it was tits up. The thing is I can find his number or the thread on moto forum. I can't check the messages cause I got banned on my old name. So I'm pretty shit out of £250
One thing I've found with HM QS is if you screw the grub screws all the way into the ends it can cause the QS to cut the ignition. Make sure you don't have them screwed all the way in.
