BBC News - Motorcycle dangers: North Wales Police 'educate' bikers Link above to activities of the North Wales Police for this coming year, so beware if your planning to have a spin out on the North Wales roads.
Nothing wrong with Mid to south wales. done more miles over the years in these areas and never a problem with the boys in blue
On way and on way back from Anglesey they were everywhere nearly every bridge made it near on impossible to drink my tins driving home ..... Joking they were everywhere though
Mid/south Wales has great roads. The only time I go to North Wales is to get to Anglesey circuit. There are some good roads there spoilt by these targeted attentions of the boys in blue
I like Wales and have been quite a few times to North Wales. Although I am unlikely to go there on my bike I find this type of policing very disappointing. I love the way they use the word 'Target' says it all really. Pity that the Police spend so much time on bikers when there are thousands of real criminals out and about everywhere....Oh but they can't catch them can they. No offence to any serving police officers on here, it is all about politics. Where I live we seldom see a Police officer (although we have some Community Safety Officers walking around sometimes). When we need one we have to wait ages, but every Saturday and Sunday there are always enough Officers to conduct speed traps. Like I said on another thread, no-one bothers here about all the mobile phone users and terrible driving, just the speeding.
I think it will all settle down they are having a little purge but money is tight and crime is high so it should be a case of economics .
This is why most of my riding will be done on track days so i can get my speed fix, and then ride like an old lady on the public roads , I drive for a Living (Buses/Hummer Limos and if I get pulled for speeding on the public roads I bet it would be an automatic ban for the speeds we can do on these bikes as it wouldn't be 33mph in a 30mph it would be on one of these welsh roads doing silly speeds . I have a lot of dealings with the welsh police/vosa with the limos as they love to target them , everytime we have cars going over Wales direction I expect them to pull one and take it to the nearest way bridge for an inspection , this will be no different if they have a operation the welsh police will be bang at it .
Smacks of Brunstrom all over again.... Thing is, if the coppers pull bikes all the time ( which they will) it effects local trades too. I was speaking to a few shop and cafe owners in Llangollen and betsy coed at brunstroms height of elitist power, and they said he was murdering business and trade due to policing. i look forward to playing for 9 days in Europe on the bike...this country sucks.
I received last week a free newspaper through the door about 10 pages inc back and front pages guess what ? It was from the welsh tourism board advertising every part of Wales and what it offers (which is a lot ) but its hardly a warm welcome is it? And I am not talking just about bikes .They just can't work it out can they.?
About time Offa's work was continued to completion. If they don't want bikes then sod 'em, and lets see what businesses think about the reduction in trade. Of course once the bikes are gone Plod will probably start on the car drivers.
There's enough Police on this forum they should shout out to their own (police buddies) an give us law abiding motorcyclists a break we pay are insurance,tax/mot, keep on top of are machines an look out for one another.
