black n white landscape

    What are you using to process your images, Raphe?

    evening fella how are you getting on? i only use picasa3 to be honest i dont really do a lot as im not to good with that side of things,pretty much change to black n white and contrast

    Do you mind if I have a look at it tomorrow for you. I reckon you can get a lot more out of it with a few tweaks.

    that would be much appreciated mate! i would like to get one of these black n white shots on my wall if they would print well enough

    The thing with making a black and white from a colour file is to remember that, especially in the case of a landscape, is that they're predominantly grey, brown and green. Colours that are all quite different, but, tonally, very similar. So, take the colours away and they all look like each other, making the contrast in the image disappear and 'flattening' the tonal range.

    Send me the full size, colour file and I'll have a look at how to bring the contrast back for you and tell you how I did it (if I can). I'll PM you my email.
