Done 800 miles on the blade now ( I know that's not enough but been on holiday for 5 weeks!) anyway the paint on it marks so easily. The tank especially. I have the HRC tank pad fitted but either side of that the paint has some dull spots that im forever polishing to keep it looking nice. Never had this on any other bike before. Anyone else had issues?

It's not just the black bud it's all the modern water based paints there as soft as sh-te!

Not a lot Honda can do about it... I believe it stems from an EU directive about the toxicity of the paints they are allowed to use.

Anecdotally, the Honda paints are generally tougher than those used by other marques anyway.

The venture shield kit includes film for the tank, failing that HG sell Oxford film that you can cut and apply, I had exactly the same issue on mine

Fit a venture shield kit NOW! That's about all you can do I'm afraid, it's annoying I know . (my new 2011 was ventured from new as I'm anal about marks) that'll keep the vulnerable areas safe. Suppose it's the price we must pay for riding a modern super bike :)

I have the same problem and I put black stomp grips on, I also use black turtle wax polish to stop the. White polish residue spoiling it!

Yep mine is suffering big time as well. Some of the marks just won't polish out anymore and thats after 1050 miles. Dread to think what the bikes going to look like when I do get round to cleaning it. Another week and a bit of thrashing round the IOM and the return journey to contend with first.

I had a 2010 black and white. Pearl white never marked, black seemed to mark if you breathed on it. It really annoyed me I am fussy and very carefull. It was bad enough for me to trade it and get a differant colour
