My brand new Blade just delivered tonight. Very exciting. Unfortunately I'm over seas for the next 7 weeks so can't get my paws on it until mid-April, I'm going to be climbing the walls until then. It's (I'm) going to be almost unbearable.
As a special favour mate, pm me your address over here and I'll run the bike in for you so it's nicely loosened up for you. No, I don't want any payment, it's a pleasure to help out another forum member! JD
Tick.....................................................tock......................................................tick..............................................tock...................tick...........................................................tock...................pah 7 weeks will fly by!!! NOT! Be well worth the wait though
Thanks for the offer JD, most generous. I'll let you know. (hope you can hold your breath for a really long time) My foreign exile from my new motor is obviously not by design, I did have a window to get back to the UK last week to collect and get the bike to Spain, but unfortunately delivery was delayed and coupled with the cold weather (lots of water and SALT on the roads) probably not a bad thing in the end. Although the wait will be long and painful. A few mods already completed prior to delivery, and a couple more pending. I've had the usual R&G bits fitted, Aero crash bungs, fork protectors, cotton reels and tail tidy (in my experience worth their weight in gold! An unfortunate drop or low speed off and they've paid for themselves a hundred fold) And I also have a GI Pro gear indicator waiting to go on (I know you can live with out them, but my 07 675 came with gear position as OEM and have just got used to having it there, and why Honda have waited until 2012 to slap it on the dash I don't know), plus a set of Tech Spec tank pads/grips (which are great, I've had the tech specs on my track bike for the last few years, work really well, look fairly subtle, and are good to be removed and re-stuck as much as you like) Any way, the weeks will no doubt seem like months, filled most likely with watching 'Closer to the Edge' another hundred times. (If you haven't seen that film documentary on the IOMTT you MUST!) Mike
Right Its starting to get to me a little bit now. 4 weeks down, 4 to go. You boys are just starting too unwrap your toys from hibernation, everyone is talking about riding again, and I've still got 29 days until I get my hands on my new blade. Its sat in me old man's garage waiting patiently to be collected and loved (and ever so slightly abused). Tick tock.
Look Mike. There's more than enough nut jobs here who will gladly abuse it on your behalf in the meantime. All you need to do is ask and they'll all fall over themselves to help.
I will put myself forward to go through the dull and hateful period of running it in for you fella just so its all ready to go when you get back 2012 blades take 4000 miles to run in dont they ?
Aaaah, you fella's are so sweet, so generous offering your time to help me out. Sorry though Fez but its a new 2010 model, only takes about 1 mile or so to wear them in (I'm not one to be too gentle when riding something new, firm but fair so probably not worth your while. And cheers Blaggers, tempting offer. I've also got a little experience wearing in crash bungs, tends to spoil the overall look though. Always a shame.
Ok then enjoy your last few weeks away then. i will be sure to be thinking about you whilst im out on the back wheel somewhere
