blade with smoking issues

    Just a general enquiry for a mate
    He has been looking at an 04 blade but it is smoking out of the exhaust enough for him to ask us for assistance .
    I know some of the older models burnt a bit of oil but did they smoke as a result?
    Would be greatfull for any input guys.

    I think the oil burners were a few 08's I don't think it affected the 04, what colour is the smoke?

    even the 04-7 used oil.

    if it's blue stay away,signs of worn barrels or rings.

    My 06 used oil not much but especially on euro long trips always gave a puff of sooty smoke not bad but cracking bike as scooby says keep away from blue on overrun etc
