Last night I was the guest speaker at the Kent Advanced Motorcycle Groups monthly meeting at Brands Hatch.

I started the presentation, looked down at there sat in front of me was my old Police motorcycle instructor Terry Friday who I have not seen in over 30 years.

Afterwards we had a long chat and it was like we only had a conversation yesterday.

It was nice to be able to thank him after all these years, because anything I have achieved subsequently in the motorcycle world can be attributed to him

One of my neighbours is a retired, ex job bike and car driving instructor and has a very blase attitude to bikes and driving in general these days, but often, if we're chatting on the drive I see his sideways glances to the back of the garage and I wonder what he'd do if I just passed him my HJC.
