I have fitted braided lines and have spent the evening bleeding the brakes, question is why are bike brakes so hard to bleed, bike is currently on stands with the lever cable tied to the bar.

on a lighter note the wife was helping me and when i started bleeding the left caliper i said nothing is coming out only to see here pulling the clutch lever.

Can be a bit of a pain sometimes. Rear caliper is a nightmare I find.

Seemed to take ages when I did mine on non-ABS 2011. Just a matter of patience;).

The issue is the volume of fluid being moved when you pull the lever is very small.so any air in the system floats back up between releasing the lever. It's like 2 steps forward 1 step back. I use a mitivac. Pulls a large volume of fluid through at a time . Including any air bubbles trapped in the fluid.

crack the banjo that goes into the master cylinder as will release all the air going to the top, I find it makes a difference

Mitivac is a necessity when you do your own brakes. Makes the rear so much easier.
