Think 200 pairs if Moldex Spark Plugs just cost me £18. Don't buy from bike shops though as they will gouge you, just get them from a safety goods shop. Used to have a set if ultimate ears but ears change shape over time and now they don't stop enough noise. If I want sat nag or sounds I use Comply Isolation Plus tips on my Shure headphones.
Yeah your ears are the only body part that never stops growing all your life, it may happen slowly or a bit at a time. So there's no telling how long they will last. My work earplugs lasted 3yrs till they were ont borderline of not blocking enough noise out. Work ones are by ottraco got solid plastic type, like the ultimate ear hobbies fort bike. Very comfortable. Worth £60 IMO
My ears ring a bit after a long ride. I should wear ear plugs but they stop me from listening to the wonderful sound of the zorst and air intake. If I start to go deaf I will buy a louder exhaust As for my neighbours, they make more noise than any exhaust so it's nice to give a little payback. Makes sense to wear them, bit late now though after 40 years.
I put a baffle in on my exhaust if I'm going out early in the morning to not pee off the neighbours, also wear ear plugs
Thanks for the advice... I've no idea what exhaust it is I have except that it's an Akro! As for ear plugs... I tried the waxy ones but when I put my lid on the moved and ended up tangled in my hair. Waxy fail.
Foam ear plugs are good roll them between your fingers to compress them then put in and wait for them to expand
Yeah - them are the ones (there's another company that do them as well iirc). You book a slot at the show and they do the fitting there and then and then post them to your a couple of weeks later. A lot cheaper than getting a fitting yourself and then sending them the moulds...
How do you find them? Do they just block out the high frequencies so you can still hear conversation etc - or do they just block all noise?
Agree with sps, foam ear plugs cheap and do the job about £6 off ebay for 25 pairs. You dont want to do permanent damage to your ears.
