Just got back from a run out to Swindon..about 60 miles in total and i noticed the bike was very hot.. Even to frame was really hot to the touch and the pegs etc.. engine fan was cutting in and out fine and the temperature was normal. Never realized it could get that hot. mind you never rode out in these temps before. Is it Normal to get that hot ? engine is still warm 3 hrs later..

I'd say it's perfectly normal for the time of year, warm air temperature makes thinks take longer to cool, I parked mine up after my Sunday run. My garage was lovely and warm all evening.
If the fans cutting in and out then they are working fine, the frame begins to become a storage heater, even before going to work 5 hours later there was a distinctive heat difference around the bike :)

Yep that big (rare) yellow thing in the sky is quite possibly the culprit

Try it in 35' Spanish Pyrenees - then it really gets hot - to the point you pour 1 litre of water down your back / arms / legs to try and cool off - then try and stand in garage fridge units to further cool off.

Don't forget its a World bike, so its designed to be quite happy operating in 35 - 40 heat which some markets will have for months on end.

Ha, you sir miss nothing, it must seem as though we are the proverbial two new boys wandering around the extensive 1000rr playground avoiding the bullies ;) I must admit Lambeth I thought the same, shall we try and get the times down a little though or is the two minutes between posts acceptable?

I don't know, man. But I've just marched downstairs in my Winnie the Pooh jimjams and announced to my parents that when I grow up I'm going to be a moderator.

    Are you sure...?

Do you think that's air you're breathing?

well back on topic ;) mine was running 80-90 degrees more of the time when over Wales on friday evening. it was 28 degress outside and unless I was doing over 50 the bike was over 100. So any filtering or town's it was warm. I've seen about 109 in 35 degree heat in Spain but as said it's not going to be at the normal temp when it's as warm as it's been

Mine is getting to 109 in traffic, gets really really toasty. Soon as I get some air flow down to 90.

As the OP my frame gets really hot. In my leathers I feel like a boil in the bag Filipino.

Thinking about hot wiring the fans so they are constantly on

Yep. Same (Almost the same journey I think slick). I sit around 106-108 all the way along the embankment etc. Only when I get to the 3 lane section on the M4 does it really drop below 100. degrees! Not mph!

Biggest issue I have is my right foot... That damn exhaust under it really keeps it toasty. Whoever put it there isn't a rider... Or they have no foot.

Oh... My leathers have wonderful little openings you unzip for airflow... They're magic. About 6 zips just for air!
