Guys snapped the head of the bold on lower fairing, ive tried drilling and using a stud extracter and ,,, ive snapped the stud extratctor any idears guys or is it just a slow drill out and die cut the treads back out? any advice
A pic would help but doesnt sound good as its likely the stud extracter is hardened so very very difficult to drill out.
Drilling the bloody thing was the only way for me, I had the same problem on the infill panel both with the panel bolt and the bracket that clamps onto the exhaust oh! and a dremel to cut the bolt on the clamp! This I then replaced with a stainless bolt, had to keep the bracket as not available anymore, new stainless for the panel and plenty of copper grease
flush in the bolt. i'm going to play "chemicals" libarate some hypocloride , to attack the stainless won t damage the alloy. should make it easy to drill
