Thinking of changing my brake lines to Braided Brake Lines but when i look on the net they come as two separate lines one to each caliper. Where as mine is one to the master then split into two half way down, Please help me out
Thats the race layout. There is a road layout with some kits, but most people just go for the 2 lines and reuse the long banjo bolt from the joiner and use it to fit both lines to the master cylinder, and then run directly to both calipers. The only issue with this is where to fix the L/H brake line to the front hugger.
Well I'm thinking of scrapping this bloody bike. Can't get front brakes sorted out. I've changed the calipers , front wheel & rotary discs and still they are binding. I have some braided brake lines on order but now I'm thinking I may have ordered the wrong 1s ?? Are 954 brake lines the same as 929 ones as they are 929 calipers What else can I do other than change the master cylinder as well if the brake lines don't do the job.
I read somewhere on here recently when bleeding the callipers to do the last bleed with the cap on the reservoir. This will create a vacuum in the system and help pull the pistons back. Not sure if this will work but it certainly makes sense, deffo worth a try!
I had to put an old CB back on the road a few weeks back. The fronts kept on binding. In the end I took the callipers apart and found a little corrosion where the pistons seat in the callipers. Just polished out the innards with a dremel and it was sorted. Also changed the seals as the pistons were out.
