What are the Pistons made of in the radial tokico calipers on the 08> blade?

Just given mine a quick clean up and was shocked at the state of them given they have only done 5k miles!

All sorted now but will be keeping a close eye on them ...

Chrome plated steel iirc, they pit badly if not looked after, and this time of year salt kills the chrome!

cheesium! mine are a mess and I clean weekly!. However it only occurs close to the pad interface ie not near the seals so not causing any issues (yet!) but I do take the calipers off once a month for a proper clean during the winter months for a good ole scrub and inspection.

Marvelous... Thankfully mine have cleaned up spotless so will be cleaning regularly ... Can you change pistons for another material?

Failing that upgrade I guess ...

Well the brake caliper strip and clean has transformed the brakes ... one finger braking!

I will keep the pistons covered in a thin smear of red grease to prevent corrosion.

I'm amazed that people feel the need to upgrade to Brembo M4's given how good these brakes actually are... !

Half of it is bling, BUT the M4's are a big step up from the OEM's, nothing wrong with OEM and lets face it stockers in the IOM seem to do ok ;) 130mph+!
