I do a fair bit of group riding on the road and a fair bit of round town stuff too so I can see how it could in theory have a purpose, but likewise don't want to look like a wanna be moto-gp bell end. I really like the look of them and think it'll look even better when i get my pazzos on.
I think they look great, but for me, a little over the top for road IMO... If I had them and actually used them for their purpose, I'd probably be on the ground anyway... BUT, for bling purposes, I say go for it!!
That's true j, however i reckon they may reduce the speed with which you go over the bars though!! I've done the commuting thing like you and you can get some pretty close calls with wing mirrors when filtering. I'd rather lay it down than be ejected over the front. I think I've convinced myself these are almost essential
I was looking at these last week and really liked them. I would buy them so that probably means you should stay well away from them
I normally love bling, but 90% of the time I can justify it as its functional or just damn sexy, unfortunately I think they are neither There are better things to spend the money on

don't buy them, ask yourself what do you want them for ? They may save your levers if you lay down your P. and D. I don't think they will stop your levers operating in a race (as i don't think you will race in an world Championship event), no one in BSB will have them as once down you cannot get back into the race. In short they will just be bling, i am a bit of a blingey person and have several mods on my bike (RR7) but would not have these as they really are not functional so save your money or buy something else ( ordered myself a Gopro 3) which has 120fps so red hot for slowmo's and other films, your own porn movies perhaps ? or just the ride out and track days or holidays or family do's
or of course you could buy then kick a round thing into an oblong receptacle and get kissed and molested by a lot of blokes
