Might be a daft question but I've currently got s20's on my blade, the rear however is nearly dead. Will the s20 evo pair with an s20 front or will I be better to change the front aswell? I was under the impression it was the same tread pattern just different compound in centre, found mixed results on Google tho
my blade came fitted with s20 front and back. (fitted from new) the rear tyre lasted 4000 kms so i got a set of s21 bridgestones but fitted only the rear causse on closer look the front tyre (s20) was fairly ok still. so now i been riding on a s21 rear and s20 front tyre and to be honest i dont notice anything weird therefore i suspect your combo will work aswell. i dont see why u want a s20evo tho causse the s21 can be had for a decent price. i payed 275 euro for the set wich is around 240 pound... the s21 rear lasts way longer then the s20 i can tell already after 2000kms. i measured thread depth from new and theres a mill gone now whereas the s20 was more then half gone on the same distance...
Is the s21 the same tread pattern to look at? I paid 141 fitted to the bike for a rear, fronts still got 4-5mm so was gonna run that until the next rear dies. The s20 were on mine when I got it so was just sticking with what I know. Went for the evo for bit better life.
similar thread not the same... traction in dry and wet are similar to the s20 (i dont know if the s21 is better causse i dont push it that far on the streets) watching the wear on the past 2k kms i do feel its gonna last longer... i looked at the evo aswell but good reviews from friends of mine made me choose the s21 over the evo causse pricewise there similar and the s21 is the current bridgestone road sort tyre so i figured that the way to go.... i have a road trip planned in a month towards southern germany so after that i can tell for sure how long it lasts....
Might give them a go next time round. I only got 900 miles out of the s20 that was on when I got it. Was around 6mm so went down pretty fast! Grip had been awesome tho that's why i stayed with Bridgestone. Already ordered the evo to match the front but might give them a ring see if I can change to a pair of s21. 2k+ out of a rear seems promising as long as the grip is still good. I've had no slides or anything from the s20 and I'm not very gentle on the throttle. Second thought tho might finish this front off with the evo rear then have a pair over winter ready for next summer
