    Hi all,
I've been a bridgestone fan for many years, going from BT016 to the S21. I've built up a lot of trust with them, but I've been hearing good things about the Michelin, and in particular the Pilot Power 3 which is the equivalent model.

Searching these forums, I've not seen a great deal of writeups on them, so just wondering what everyone's thoughts are.
I will use these for doing pretty big distances (across France to the Pyrenees, for example), then will be scratching my way around the mountain roads with luggage and a tank bag on a 07 Blade. For previous trips to the Pyrenees/alps/nurbugring, the Bidgestones have been great for knee-down action, but also the long distances and even the wet.
I effectively need a tyre that can do the motorway work, but also allow pretty spritely riding in the mountains.

    My questions I suppose are:
    - The S21 is a five compound, the PP3 three. Is the outer grippy edge of the S21 going to be sticiker than that of the PP3, so superior for those times I'm feeling brave?
    - How does turn-in compare between the two?
    - If not the PP3, what oher options are there to fit these needs?

I appreciate there are a million threads on tyres, but I've not seen a lot on the relatively new PP3...

    Thanks in advance.

I moved from PP2 TO PP3 and love them, i had the suspension on the bike done by Eddie at knockhill racing and he rated the Pilot road 4 GT as the best all round tyre for the road there is , he said unless your doing track days then these are the best, fantastic grip brilliant in the wet and the mileage on a sportsbike is also brilliant, i will be fitting them next time round to my litre bike, should be really good for the mileage and you should also be able to give it a little throttle as well

I only went with the s21 on the rear as the front still has life left in it, when the rear has gone next I will replace the pair with Pirelli Rosso 3s awesome tyres.

Give them a go, see if they are worth a damn. If you are doing quite high mileage then they will not last long anyway. Maybe try them for a season.

The good thing about being a Channel Islander is that going round corners is more normal for us than riding upright for long periods. So finding out what tyres are like going round corners is easier here than say if you live in Nebraska or Utah !

I had T30 Evo last year and did 9,500 miles on them across European trips. No issues at all including fast motorway in heavy rain. But they were so squared off as to be completely useless for going round corners - they were so square !

This year, went to the IoM TT, so wanted a bit sportier, with still some mileage so put the S21 on and they worked fine. For road use you have got to be really laying the thing down to find the edge.

On the S21 I never got past about 1/4 inch chicken strips from the edge in road use. You got to be really hanging off it laying the thing down to find the edge on the road.
