You would need to be mad to ride in anything but approved bike kit. Can't remember the exact figures but it doesn't take long to wear the skin through to the bone.
They have to be barkin mad. But do you know what? In this shithole of a country we get a choice in certain areas. We all know the result of an off if you are not wearing the correct protective gear. They all know this. So i say each to their own and just wish them safe

So true, and one day we won't be allowed bikes like ours, we won't be able to get on them without head to toe leather, and we'll have to have black boxes fitted blah blah blah. I'm all up fir personal freedom and whilst 95% of the time I gear up to the hills, if I want to ride in flip flops and a g string, I might just exercise that right (albeit under the cover if darkness)
The one that gets me with the bods that ride into town on there super shiny Ducati, Fancy brand new dianese leathers and top of the range boots and lid BUT NO GLOVES! spend the £50 on a pair as in any event of an accident it's your hands that go down first just a natural reaction, they obv have money with the rest of the gear there wearing And not even that riding in gloves is horrible especially at the moment going into the smog with all the chipping ect flicking up
That's because they need their wallet hand free to pay for those never ending service bills and recovery truck call out fees
