So does anybody on here have any ideas on how to remove broken screws? lol <a href="http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/garyauk/?action=view&current=IMAG0097.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/garyauk/IMAG0097.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to ride my bike much this year!
This was the result of a car driver doing u-turn in the road without looking, back in April I have been on the mend and doing well, but the break in the femur wasn't bonding together as well as it could so I was told to start weight bearing on it more to try and "push" the bones together a bit more. So I was walking and cycling lots and then after a while my leg started to hurt. Eventually I had to go back on crutches. My local hospital thought I had a blood clot, so I had a ultrasound scan and all was ok. In the end I went back to Addenbrookes Hospital and they told me the screws have broken!.....This is not as bad as it seems as now my bone is bonding together now. But the screws cannot be removed. So now I have just got to weight and pray the pain eases The driver of the car that U-turned infront of me has just been taken to court by the police and was foung guilty of driving without due care and attention, so every cloud has a silver lining
Gary mate Thats just.....just...just...I don't know what to...it's just.....ugh! Why is it that it's your leg, but the picture's just made my willy climb up into my belly! Why does that happen! Now mate, I am truly concerned for you welfare but I have to ask.....The bike?
Well...... the bike...... what can I say?......... Its bloody great! as this happened on a courtesy bike from the dealer as mine was in for repair Impressive parking eh?
Oh at least that side is sorted then. Well i hope it doesnt take to much longer for your recovery and your hopfully enjoying the bike next summer. I got knocked off my bike 3 years ago by a car pulling out on me who was also charged with the same offense as the guy who knocked you off. I didnt have any brakes but i had a decent compensation pay out to sooth the pain
I've got a solicitor on the case at the moment and he says I've got a very strong case. But I understand that it takes a long time to come to a settlement
The driver got six points on his licence, £185 fine and £85 court costs. I got a broken right femur and a fractured pelvis
Mine took a year to settle . I accepted the second offer of £7500.00 and i had no broken bones , just severe bruising and road rash . My mate broke his leg in a crash last year and he settled on the 6th offer at 28 grand so i think you will be doing well out of this mate. I know money cant replace any long term injurys you may be left with but at least ther is a bit of a silver lining coming ey
I'm a bit conflicted now, because I really want to say Result! but you've got a fractured femur and pelvis so good taste won't let me, so instead I'll say Denied! Just watching "My name is Earl" so it's a Karma thing, possibly lifelong injuries but the bike was spared. I'm just trying to be a better person.
