Guys and Gals , i normally run Pirrelli corsa 3 and i have just been offered BT016 Pro's and was wanting any recommendations / bad reviews if Any i use for Fast road (sometimes) haha, just want a rear to last 2-3K with plenty of Sticky stuff!!! any help gratefully recieved as never used them cheers will
This time of year on the road compared to others, ok but not the best. Ran them this time last year and the rears went loose too easily for my liking. The centres are far too hard and dont cope well when it gets cold. Used on the track too and found them very good. At long as they are warm very good. Can't remember exactly but got less than 5k out of them. Running Michelin PP3s and found them much more predictable and much longer lasting. EDIT: mine were the non pros
Run my 09 with Pilot Powers, never had a problem with them (good mileage/grip etc) also used them on both my 04 and 08R1 again with no issues. Good value in comparison with 'newer spec tyres'.
Had the bt016pros fitted in Germany as that's all they had. They were ok tbh. Good all round tyre but not exceptional. Had worse, had better but couldn't fault them on anything specific.
I run them, good tyre, used the bike this week, and they coped well with the cold and damp. For the money, I'd reccomend them.
I use BT16 Pro,s , Good tyre but I have to warm them on the road as they will move around if not warm . Blade feels good when on side of tyre ( Knee down ).
Good luck with the s20 mate. I destroyed the rear in the wet in Scotland in under 1000 miles Great tyre, made of melted cheese......
Cheers guys, got them for £160 for pair so thought good price compared to the corsas. I'll get them fitted Cheers guys
I used to run BT16 Pro's on both the ZX6R and the Fireblade. I'm not the fastest rider, so didn't probably get enough heat into them, but to be honest they never gave me the confidence to push them when cold. I've now got S20's which give me the confidence to push them to get them hot. Basically, they seem to be a good tyre once hot, it's just having the confidence to get them hot.......LOL. S20's a better tyre. BUT, I'm guessing if your a better rider than me, you should be able to warm them up to the point where they're good. So at that money that's a good dea.
I'd agree with that mate having tried both. S20 is better tyre without doubt. Wet performance and heat up times is awesome. How you find them for milage though mate?
My Blade come with a new set of BT16 Pros, went through the rear in 1600 miles of commuting, and as soon as the temp dropped, had the rear spinning up in a straight line on roll on acceleration. So in an average year I would need 10 of the little buggers...PR3 to the rescue
Not sure of the expected mileage of the S20, Only had them on for about 100 miles, but I'd prefer grip over mileage.
