buyer beware

    not exactly bike related but it may help when buying vehicles.
    just bought an audi a4, checked it on hpi ,all clear.
    found on another forum that you can check the vehicles previous mot mileages by going onto the vosa site and entering the reg number and any previous mot certificate number.
    any way it turns out that in 2008 my car had done 94,000 miles and a year later it had gone down to 60,000 miles.
    i am not particularly bothered ,as the engine and box have just been reconditioned by the previous owner due to the engine oil pump drive had collapsed.
    plus i got the car £2300 less than cars of similar age.
    just goes to show that hpi does not verify the mileage of cars ,even though the data is easily obtainable.
    i presume the same vosa checks can be done to check bike mileages.

    Nice one monkey, thanks for sharing. I use the Vosa site quite a lot to do with work but never knew you could get that intel.
