I'm dropping back to the UK for a few weeks in August and I'm keen to pick up a trackbike/racebike which I'll ship back to Singapore. Ideal plan is to buy one, do a few UK trackdays and crate it up and send it back.

With the current exchange rate I can pick up a tasty machine for less than your average road bike here. An example is like what Shanes bought, a monster of a bike with a huge spec for nearly the price of a new 1000RR on the road here in Singapore. I'm not looking for something as lethal as I'm thinking of having a go at racing next year, so I think a 600RR/R6 would be a better choice than a litre machine. I'm still learning the race craft an all.

So, other than eBay, Moto Forum where else can I look at bikes? Craig, you must have some good contacts!

    Thoughts welcome.

Sounds like a great idea, hope you find what you are after, I will watch this one as I am interested in getting a track bike, and like you think a 600 would be better for me to learn the dark arts on :)

Hope you get lots of info and advice :)

    Now matey!

Motoforum is the place for good kit, depending on what your looking for I can't recommend Racespares UK enough, a lot of the big teams sell there bike to him once Done, and clubbys always use him. I'll PM you my number so
Once you know when your coming back giz a buzz and I'll start hunting!

PS, instead of buying one done, why not
    Build one??

Building one always costs more than buying one already done. But I'll look into the costs of buying a road bike (selling all the fairing etc) and what it will cost for the bits I'd like.

I'll try those links and will be looking!

    Flights booking soon :)
