Been raining all morning today, but the roads have been dry all afternoon, so i'm going on the off chance that it's dry at some point tomorrow. Other than that i'm all loaded up and ready to go. Anyone else?
Have a good day I'll be driving around Grimsby this week doing my LGV Class 1 so give it a wide berth
Cheers. Has your back healed ok? I'll bear that in mind, although i tend to find HGV drivers quite courteous towards bikers. I wonder if they're bikers too Cheers Giv. Still working on the bug thing though as I sh@t myself last time and the weather ain't much better this time round. Got better tyres now, so hoping for a dry spell before I write the day off. Back again on the 28th too, so stay tuned for pics, along with another thread in 2 weeks time.
Its getting there just need swelling to start going down but bruising all coming out now so should be ok in couple of weeks cheers
Hope weather was better at Cadwell was better than around my bit of Lincolnshire. Loads of surface water on the roads around here until after lunchtime. Barn would be fun with the wet and the wind having probably dumped a load of leaves.
Well i'm back and in 1 piece, which is more than can be said for one of the Inters who went down and broke his collar bone. I can confidently say that the weather was shit, but i decided "in for a penny..." Thankfully every session was half empty, which gave me less people to worry about so i could concentrate on the job at hand. I went out with an instructor in the 2nd session and didn't go slow despite me being on Supercorsas, just had to watch the standing water. 3rd session, despite me filling up like a water balloon, i'm starting to get more confident and am overtaking more bikes when it starts to missfire and eventually only run on 3 cylinders. Removed the tank during one of the breaks and found a rusty spark plug sodden with unburned fuel, aha! So get changed, unhitched the trailer and drive to Halfords Louth for a new one. Get back to Cadwell and set to with fitting it, but (and this is the killer issue) the fuel line connector to the tank snaps off, bugger, that's ended my day! All in all i'm happy that i didn't write the day due to bad weather and actually enjoyed myself, but i've still yet to complete a full day and will definitely invest in a set of rain tyres to do it again as i did find myself being smooth, which i'm hoping will help in the dry next year. Roll on 28th. Pics to follow.
Glad you got back in one piece Gary, wet as hell here all day, and I don't reckon that Supercorsa's are the world best wet tyre might have a go on the 28th if it stays dry, or it will be next year now for me
Cheers Gary. I'm working on the basis that i'll have a good 2014 if I iron out all the problems/preparations now. TBH Simon there were loads of road bikes just wearing racing wets, even a couple in Inters. I don't relish the thought of falling off either despite the security of running what is basically a Hack. Lets still hope for dry weather though then i can give it a proper go. Never ends does it. I've already got a track day box New tool kit next.
