calling all yorkshire folk

    Is there anybody on here who lives within reasonable distance of me and is more than capable of twirling a spanner.

    The reason i ask is i have totally lost faith with my local mechanic, that and the fact i hope 1 of you can also do things a bit cheaper.

    I am buying a few things for spring ( not exactly sure what yet ) but no matter what it is i buy im sure it will be beyond my ability to fit correctly

    iF YOU can get to Halifax and ideally drop bike off I can ask my mate who is a bike mechanic to do it in his private garage - what needs doing to it?

    Oh yes i should have said i am happy to travel to you.

    Thanks al i will keep that in mind, i dont know what needs doing yet but i now have a pc5 to fit and probably a hm+ shifter and a couple of other bits and bobs

    OK - he is doing my Blade re-build which included plug swap so the HM QS won't be a problem and the PC5 also easy but he cannot set it up / dyno it - does it also need a service or you OK doing those bits?

    No i have just done a oil and filter change so its ok for now

    I'm not too bad with the spanners, dude. I successfully replaced the steering stem on my R6 and do most of my own servicing and stuff. Depending on what you're planning on fitting I'm sure we can manage it between us. I've got a garage to work in and all the tools so if you want to head to mine I'm sure we can sort out what needs doing.

    Having said that I can't seem to find a Haynes manual for later Blades. Only the 04 - 07 one so it'd be good if you could get hold of a workshop manual.

    Thanks rich yeh im sure we could get it sorted between us by you doing the work and me making the tea :)

    A haynes manual would certainly be a good idea to help us out. When i have all the bits bought i will give you a shout and if your happy to help me fit them i will be paying you a visit

    Best thing to do guys is to get the PDF type workshop manuals. I'm sure there's 1 in the maintenance section on here. (May be wrong though)

    Absolute god send they are for doing anything to the bikes.

    Ill give you a hand but i'm no good with a spanner.. i do however make a nice cup of tea and ill bring chocolate Hobnobs...:D
