    Hi all,
I have a 2004 1000rr that I can hear a light tapping from when sitting on the bike.
I have only bought this bike and have just covered 120miles.
It's not banging or crunching and seems to get quiter when it warms up.
I have a receipt that says the valves were done at 16000mls and now there is 20,000 miles on it so I guess it's the cam chain.

Are the Honda ones expensive, I presume so but are they worth it?
Would I be better off with a manual or automatic tensioner?
Ape seem to be popular, so are they the one to go for?

    Thanks, John.

i would imagine if the valves where done, then a new can chain+tensioner was fitted,or at least should have.(makes sense really).

i have a honda tensioner here(2k miles old) cheap if you want it.
