guys got caught today speeding came off dual carriage way into 40 then to 30 zone didn't shut off quick enough fair cop pulls me over ,chats for a while about it and my lack of mirror use and gives me 3 options take the fine & points go to court speed awarness course.............. i take this option gives me a ticket with op rider on it am i right i don't need to produce at the station just wait for the course also he pointed out the small plate and politly suggested i get it changed. as i said no hard feelings he was a nice guy ( ex biker ) pointed out the accidents he has to attend and left complimenting me on the blade i was guilty and got caught just annoyed at myself for being so bloody stupid im not even a fast rider
Sorry to hear that Gray, I dread the thought myself, 32 years and never a point. Everyone's been telling me the Blade will lose me my licence. The only consolation is that you couldn't have been too much over otherwise the speed awareness course wouldn't have been an option.
Speed wouldn't have been too much over if offered the speed awareness course I would imagine. It will say on the paperwork if you have to produce anything but as most things can be checked at the roadside I doubt you need to produce anything other than your licence on the day of the course.
well done for taking it on the chin, pisses me off people that moan about getting caught.do the crime and all that.......
pees me off that i have to spend more time looking into every car that is parked up on country roads and constantlly looking behind me to see if it an unmarked copper, instead of concentrating on the road ahead. off to the tt now where i can do some proper riding . why cant all coppers be like the ones on the iom?
I am the same does my head in looking for any sort of van parked up or looking for our local ford mondeo and the silver skoda, ride safe over at the TT 5 deaths already mad place i will never ride over there again while TT is on.
Silver BMW 'S 535DEstate Motorsports , Based in Tadcaster running around the sherburn in elmet area , every weekend and on wednesday evenings too , endured a chat with driver of said car one day last year , himself a motorcycle rider too , decided a chat with me would surfice , a lucky day i thought !!!!!!
Those bmw's make it around here also as i quite often see them and quite a few white volvo s40. Not quite cortinas but lots of astra diesels
Seen them volvo's too mate , saw one on the road from Whitby to Scarbourgh , noticed lights in back window of the car , just backed off , first chance i got turned off and went another one , they also use a red hire van with a camera in the back , on the morning its parked at the top of garraby hill , then in the afternoon its about a mile away from the bottom of the same hill !!!!
Going for the course Number plate changed seems massive but not worth the grief How the hell do you guys keep your license only had the blade a year I'm not a fast rider at all but there so many ways to get done I wonder if it's worth it
oh its worth it, you have just been unlucky thats all. we have all done much worse and got away with it
Agree with Fez .We all have been done at one time or another be it plates /Speeding ect. You just have to get on with it and keep your eyes open try to be where there are sports bikes around you travel at the right times Sunday lunch is asking for trouble .We have discussed attitude of cops in depth and the general feeling is most are not to bad. In your situation because the funding for Speed Cameras is finished the cops /Road safety groups ect have got together and invented this little wheeze of which any money collected in fines pays for the course which keeps retired cops in a nice easy number so thats the reason you got the fine and not a quick piece of advice.
Good luck with the course... its impossible to ride a blade at 30mph! though having a sharp eye helps..
