cbr 1000 rr4 want to swop the engine for a 6/7 engine i know this as come up but cant find it in the search and my comp is taking about 2 minutes to change pages is it just a matter of dropping one engine out and putting 6/7 engine in or is there more to it ie cdi loom
Im sure it would run but a lot of the loom connectos / engine connectors are diffrent.. Cam sensor connector is diffrent but you could probably swap over the whole unit.. I was tempted to swap the head over as I believe thats where most of the changes were to get the extra power, red line was increased but The ECU has diffrent loom connectors so you cant swap that.. I also think there injectors are bigger on the RR7 perhaps??
heads are cheap also Daz, seen them for under £100 on ebay.. I was tempted myself still may do later on Also its something ive been meaning to ask, what sort of real world power do RR4-5 make on the dyno with pipe and dynojet mods?
IMO it's not really a worth while project just to perhaps get a few more ponies. Spend that cash on a good suspension set up with a few "Bling" Ohlins stuff. MasterBlader has a 07 lump in his 05 , goes well but unless you,ve got a spare engine/ECU/loom it could cost a load of dosh.
