So mcn are reporting that the CBR 1000RR outsold any other bike on the market in march. i always though the 600 market sold more than the 1000's. But as its the best bike in the universe i shouldnt be suprised really
1199's not out yet! I wouldn’t be holding my breath that 1000rr stays at the top of the superbike shit pile.
1199 wont outsell the blade! for many reasons Price Aftermarket mods price the carbon termignoni exhaust are 2k +! Servicing price Did i mention the price! Also you can run a 1000rr all weathers and it will keep going where as the 1199 will be kept in garages on for the odd sunny day! Otherwise it will fall apart! 1199 is a awesome bike though wouldnt mind one in the garage
totally agree - however, i was chatting to a ducati dealer at the weekend - service intervals are 7k minor and 14k major as they have gone to chains from belts, also the servicing is fixed price so you know what your paying. mind you, he didnt say what the fixed price was ha ha but the intervals are decent.
One of the reasons they hardly changed the blade this year is that in 2010-11 the blade was the 4th selling bike out of ALL models/makes/classes so what's the point in changing something that obviously works and appeals to buyers!
agreed benn - however i think the blades market share will drop this year big time. zx10 is awesome (but fugly) but has a hardcore following (for some reason) r1 now reasonably priced bmw continues to prove itself againt competitors....
Clam down fella's I am just in a mischievous mood this afternoon. Must have been the £5.00 small bottle of Peroni in Covent Garden that’s done it.. Benn I was over your neck last night, took the kids to a new Indian restaurant in Boldmere called Simla on the High Street. Great food and reasonable prices have to take your own booze though. Worth a visit if you like that kind of food fella.
i didnt even realise they had got shot of the belts. will just have to wait for 2nd hand ones to hit 10k then i could be tempted
by then the new latest and greatest will be out and you will be waiting for that to come down!!! ha ha
Probably i will yeh. i dont see the blades sales being hit too hard as the bmw is no longer a new bike and people who want a panigale are unlikely to want a blade. the blade is nearly half the price of the 'S' model
How many years is it now that Honda have released it's sales figures with some frugal little 125 commuter being it's big seller, closely followed by the FireBlade. I don't even read the numbers anymore. If any of the other manufacturers suddenly claimed that their 1 litre sport bike had outsold everything else in it's catalogue I might do a double take but it's an old story with the 'Blade. 83% of statistics are made up on the spot. I remember reading a report by the RAC that said according to their records Ducati were the most reliable bikes on British roads and Honda were the least reliable. Then it turned out that the figures were calculated by the call out. For every Ducati they got called out to there were 6 Hondas. Until then it hadn't occurred to them that for every Ducati on the road there were at least a dozen Hondas to start with. Accountants. They'll be in the queue behind Lawyers and royals come the glorious day.
I'm sure I read that the uk will only see 300 1199's this year? If that is true its hardly like to hit the top of any sales tables surely?
