Hi, I am new to this site and looking for some help, I have bought some SKF low friction fork seals and am struggling to find what oil to put in the forks, I weigh about 85kg kitted and ride bumpy roads, I am not a racer but like some fun. Hope someone can help

Thanks, I cannot believe there is so little information on suspension out there, This is the most important part of the bike to me as I ride bumpy roads, I took a couple of shims out of the compression stack last year and now it is a lot better on high speed compression, but I still get a lot of noticeable stiction, If I lube the seals before I ride I can tell a major difference, I may spent to much time looking for perfection, but I have spent a few years playing with suspension and the more you do the more you expect from it. I am new to the site but hope to pass on my info as I go

The trouble is suspension is like a drug, the more time you spend doing it the more critical you get of the set up you have. I ride bumpy roads mainly the Yorkshire TT area. I am an engineer and like to tinker so come winter time my time is more on improving the bike as it wont be coming out until it is at least 15c. but when you ride and lube your seals first the difference is night and day to the return trip when the lube is wearing off, My stiction on a really good day is 4mm on a bad day is 10mm, the ride difference is very noticeable, I am also looking at nitride finish or DLC

I thought the trend with bikes now is to use lighter oils, 0w and 2.5w so that the disparity between hot and cold performance is not so great

My last bike was an R1 this had standard 20mm pistons and ran on 2.5 oil the cbr has 30mm pistons so I am unsure about oil, I am sure I have seen somewhere else that it was 10 weight as well as peter, I would like a 2013 service manual this would make life a lot easier for all the settings

Your better off sticking with 10 weight but just a better quality oil, anything thicker your going to mess with the flow rates.

Just taken out the old oil, This is original Honda. I made a bottle up with a thin tube and put some 5 weight in. this took 2.20 to drain I then put the old honda oil in and it took 4.40 I could not believe it was exactly double but it does prove to me it was 10 weight
