Hi Guys, I have a 2015 cbr1000rr hrc edition standard bike and was wondering if it would be worth swapping suspension on mine for aftermarket like ohlins/k tech or possibly swapping bikes to same model but an SP one. Which one would be the better one to do. I carry pillions as well so if got SP would have to fit a standard sub frame to the SP so i could carry on this. What are your guys thoughts?
May be more cost effective to re-valve the forks with k-tech pistons, and buy a k-tech shock? I'm no suspension expert, but I would ask what are you trying to achieve? Is it better handling and/or road comfort, or looks, or all of the above?
Servicing the forks will make a massive difference to start as the standard oil is crap at best. Upgrading the springs is another option and getting the suspension set up will make a massive difference also. if you need anything more than that and do go the ohlins route, keep an eye on the seels as known to leak
Hi guys, I had forks and shock serviced and set up for me but think it could be better especially when riding spirited. Is mainly for better handling and feeling. Unfortunately they dont do valve kits for 2015 cbr1000rr only full cartridge kits. Ive asked about 6 suspension places and they have all confirmed it.
You can get new valving from RaceTech, forks and shock. Makes a difference. But the main thing are the springs. Make sure those are correct for your weight. Set the fork rider sag to 40mm and shock 35mm.
