I know it's not a 1000r. In fact it's not even mine. I've had three FireBlades and I'm currently squiding around on a shiny new ZX10R. Much fun and very green. Anyway, to the point. A friend of mine has left his 929 with me to try and fix some electical gremlins while he protects the UK in from a sunny beach in Gibraltar Bare with me, this could take a while. The gremlins are. The Odometer sometimes comes up with 0 miles, or 99999 miles. Occasionally it will come up with (for instance today) 21910, then after a couple of seconds it will then go to 21912 its actual mileage. Just once it has shown the mileage as 36700 and some The speedo works if its going to, faultlessly. Other times it will read up to a maximum of about 4 miles an hour this is not actual speed related. If the speedo is working then the trip meter works. If it's not, then the trip meter still works but only at about 50% accuracy. The rev counter is reading about 1k over as well. I'm not convinced that it's related though as it was fine until this morning when I started investigating. Don't know what I could have done, but I don't want it to muddy the waters so to speak. Right now we get to the interesting bit. Out with haynes. All the numbers on the multimeter seem to be textbook. I've had the clocks off and there's no evidence of any water ingress or tracking across the pcb. It's mint inside. Diagnostics. I wasn't expecting anything to show up when I put the jumper across the diagnostic plug, and it didn't. What did happen was the H-Vix servo powered. It was then I realised that maybe the clocks might be telling me something but I have no idea what. The Fi lcd comes on with the ignition then goes off and the red light comes on. I've assumed, perhaps wrongly that the red light comes on as there's no oil pressure, as it goes straight out with the oil lcd when you fire it up. When I put the jumper across the diag block then switch it on the Fi light and the red light come on and stay on. No codes flash. When I try the reset option i.e. pull the jumper then plug it back in again within 5 seconds it's meant to flash at me to say it's reset. It doesn't. But the H-Vix servo whirrs when I reconnect it. I've tried to be as thorough as I can. Can anyone shed any light on this? Many Thanks Al
