Just caught a glimpse of it pulled up at the end of Lime Kiln Lane on Sannerville Way, just outside of Exminster on the way home tonight. The rider was leant against it having a chat with a couple of cyclists. Couldn't see the plate for the year, '79 at a guess in the classic silver and black with red trim of the first year or so of production. Looked clean at a distance. I'd forgotten what monsters they were in the flesh
That and the z1300 both had really impressive engines, I've fond memories of a z1300 wheelying past birtley cafe in 82 on a Saturday night.
Didn't a guy called archie nickvest ? Or some name.? do stunts on one in the late 70s wore cloggs and slid off the back I think , first man to smash the back light off by wheelying too.
My brother in laws uncle had a Harris CBX turbo. Just wish i had some photos - it was awesome. There was a group of us went to Silverstone to see the GP in 1981 and he just took the p**s out of every other bike down the motorway.
BDS, great find. Artos's a bit of a charmless nerk isn't he, and the bike looked like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
Hey bds well done on finding that! I wasn't to far off on his name lol. Some rider that boy was doing a mans wheely on a mans bike, great to see that video. Cheers bud
