hi chaps, iv'e only had my blade two weeks, it's a 2010 model and has done 6000 miles, after my second decent ride out iv'e noticed there's a noticable shunt when you either open or close the throttle almost as if the chain is loose and its pulling up the slack.. starting to really annoy me i must admit, i'm wondering if i should change the chain and sprockets. anybody else experianced this? thanks in advance gary.

Have you tried to checked/adjusted the chain slack?

If you bought the bike from a dealer, I would have expected them to have done it for you, but you never know.

chain seem fine tension wise, so i'm a little non plussed to be honest all i think is maybe it wants chain and sprockets with it having done 6000 miles, think i'll have to pop it to the dealer and just hope they don't fob me off with 'they all do it.. it's the norm' ! iv'e had loads of bikes inc a couple of late model 600rr's and none have done this. :(

Does not sound right to me, also wheel drive rubbers could be worn ? as they take up the tension during acceleration reducing the on/off feeling, does not explain when power comes off though ???

Take it back let them sort it I am sure if your not happy they will take the time to solve the problem, good luck :)

How heavy are you have you got someone to check the slack when your sat on the bike also, what sort of condition is the chain in has it got any tight spots etc as if this is the case it may be fine inone part but very tight or very loose in another, I speak from personal experience!!!!

Yeah it might but literally move the chain round about 5 links at a time and check freeness of movement then move it on you won't be able to see a tight spot necessarily Just check round the whole chain!
