Hey guys I've been thinkin of changing my fork oil but with a syringe and rubber tubing with the forks still on the bike
Now if I pop the fork caps off, then feed the tubing in and remove old oil, then replace the exact amount removed with fresh oil then pop the fork caps back on and torque up :) I know I'll not get all the old oil out but thot with lots of fresh oil it should make a difference!

Does any of you foresee problems or have any tips in doing so? I should probably ask Arthur eh!!

Any help welcome guys! Cheers in advance :)

    Looks like you are asking....lol

Well IMO you will find it hard to remove the oil in that way as for one it will be hard to suck up the oil through a tube with a syringe maybe better if you used a fluid extractor as they have a very thin tube that oil passes though with ease and the vacume is much higher, next problem will be most of the crud settles in the lower part of the tube as well as oil in the cartridge so again hard to get all out, another problem is however well you may measure what you get from each leg the final level is or should be set with the springs removed and fully compress the fork oil is added to each leg so the height is the same, norm around 120mm but I always try and get the correct data for each manufactures fork, also when the caps are unscrewed you still need to gain access as the cap is under pressure from the spring etc hence normally a spring compressor is used also doing two as the same time...well....bearing in mind they are clamped together in the yoke...does this help?

Thanks Arthur & thanks for you kind offer Colin :)
I stripped my CB1 & 600F forks no problems but the Blade seams more complex that why I thot a syringe and a length of tubing may have done the trick!..
I knew I wouldn't be able to get all the old oil out but I thot if I can remove say 400ml and put 400ml exact measurements I could get away with oil levels!
Oh well this is an autumn job guys! It's to near to the Scottish tour to feck things up especially since dropping her as well

    Thanks again :)
