I have a rr9 with race can pc3 ign mod and quick shift all setup well on the dyno after my last track day donington I could easily pass bmw 1000rr and most people down the straight but down the Dunlop straight I just clip fourth gear to stop the wheelie over the bump but most of the time i am in 2nd and 3rd gear just using the two gears!! my question is it worth gearing down a bit ie 15t on front to knock off about 5%?? Will it make it even faster?? Cheers
In a nutshell, yes! If you hit the bump in too low a gear then the bike will want to wheelie, but geared down you'll be through those gears sooner and hopefully into 4th when you hit the bump. 4th will still be geared down slightly which will keep the bike pulling and save you from felling like you're changing up too soon, but it potentially could still lift if the bike is pulling hard when you hit the bump, just not as much in 4th.
