I had one of those cheeky blasts today.
The sort where you wake up early, look out of the window and think, sod it - I'm off out for a quick blast.

Managed to get in a 70 mile trip and get back in time to have breakfast with the family.

Yes it was cold, and had a few butt-clenching moments when I came across patches of frost (always on the bloody fast bends!?!) but it was great!

They've obviously salted the roads cos the bike is a mess now and needs a clean, but it felt great to get out when you think riding season is now over.

Need to invest in some decent winter gear if I'm gonna do that again though! :)

Anyone else still getting out for the odd ride?

Had one Friday afternoon, me and mate on his R1 went from Wolverhampton to Ashbourne via Uttoxeter and Kings Bromley, what a blast, got home about 6.30 in the dark and pouring with rain but I had the biggest grin on my face ever. These moments are what it's all about and the Blade was so confidence inspiring the headlights cut through the night with no problems at all. Wonder how many more of these we have left before winter sets in.

Snap! Just back from a very muddy 45 miler on the trek! Wishing the whole time I had taken the blade out as the sun was shining! Oh well the healthier option is better for me I guess!

Tried yesterday but only got about a mile along the road and the front brakes seize on :(
Had no option but to loosen off bleed nipples to free them off as even after standing there for 10 - 15 mins to let them cool down they still hadnt freed off. So brake fluid everywhere and pushed the bike back home.
However I'll get it sorted though and if there is still some nice days to be had I will try again :D
Had initially planned to keep it away till next year but everytime I go into the garage and look at the bike I want to take it out, I guess yesterday I just thought... Sod it! ! Lol

I do think some of the best rides are when you haven't planned it, but just spot the weather and go.
Just hoping for a few more before it gets too bad - but probably pushing it! :)

It may have turned out to be an expensive ride though. Just checked the bike over and found a nail in the back tyre. Only put a 1000 miles on it too. D'oh!

My rides are generally unplanned blasts, but i used to ride my ninja to work sometimes and liked to be on roads i wouldnt normally be on. Its good to have a rise with a purpose other just to blast around too.

Just a quick blat to 'H's' cafe for a couple of teas, cold and slimey (no not the tea) with a very low sun. May be the last outing of this year but you never know.

It gets bloody cold doesn't it. :)

I'm contemplating heated grips now, but I've heard the battery won't cope with it.

ACF 50 is a must imho if you ride through the winter. Had my last three bikes treated with the stuff, absolutely brilliant.

Got home earlier than I thought from being for work, just got in from a 100 or so miles through the lanes. That's now over 800 since Sunday.

Heated grips an issue with the battery, not that I'm aware.

Had them on the 929 for a couple of years, no issues. Haven't got them on the 10, but sure others have with no problems?

I've heard of some Oxford hot hands that go over the normal grips. Anyone tried them? Someone said they're easy to install - even for the mechanically challenged ... So perfect for me!

Never heard of ACF50 - what is it?
