There's been a few threads on chinese fairings and I've had mine on the bike for 2 years and got unpainted white fairings from auctmarts for a track bike. Fitting was fine as I said before and generally these have been pretty good. I have mentioned that they're quite brittle though so thought I'd update with what I found a week ago before preparing for a track day. I found that a crack had formed on the tank piece...

It seems like a weird place to form but there's also been a few tags break off as I remove the fairings regularly. I'd say that that piece has come off probably around ten or so times for servicing, repairs and so on. I'm not massively careful with it but I'm not pulling it off with a load of force either.

Anyway, this isn't a complaint as these have served their purpose and I'll get some more in another season of track days when these probably completely fall apart. I don't use this on the road by the way. This is just so you set your expectations accordingly. If you leave the fairings on and only remove them for servicing once a year they'll probably last longer. If they come back from the garage with a tab missing it might not have been avoidable.

    Cheers,

    Mark

PS. I wouldn't buy these to repaint, you'd be better off sourcing originals and repainting those. Would be a better investment I think.

Bought a Chinese kit on ebay and returned it immediately. The plastics are very flimsy and and can see very delicate. Easily breakable while mounting the kit. My nose cone was weighing 200 grams and returned it to the seller can't risk my life wrapping a paper to my blade.

@ignatius I'd be interested to know which supplier you used? I think it's dangerous to generalise too much about Chinese fairings, as the quality varies massively from supplier to supplier... even year to year from the same supplier! It's a total lottery to be fair.
I've used Auctmarts like @dern and found the panels to be every bit as substantial as OE. The only real problem is the material doesn't have the same plasticity as the OE, so starts to crack & fracture after a few years.

I bought some matte black ones from United Fairings on ebay, I thought they were really good for the money. Fit was pretty much spot on and I think I broke one tab on the belly pan. Apart from that had no issues. As said above, it can be a lottery

Bought mine from auctmarts, had to drill out one hole bit apart from that bolted straight on and we’re still on the bike without a single crack and 50k miles,I was actually really surprised how well they stood up when going down the road
