Nice one Steve. I have an integral garage and the hot water heating pipes run through the garage so removed all the pipe lagging, as you do :)

Really sorry but I'm deadly serious when I ask what difference could this possibly make?

I have one of these in my workshop. Not as big though. It's a 10'x8' shed that I've insulated and sealed, so, about 550 cubic feet or so. I keep it running non stop from autumn to spring and I find the temperature is rarely more than a handful of degrees above ambient, but, it does dry the air out brilliantly and my saws, chisels and other precious ferrous metal stays fresh all year round.

Yeah I find things used to go rusty in there b4 the heater was in there , figured it wouldn't do the battery any good being so cold in there or the optimate . Double the heater size has made a noticeable difference . Didn't think it would do the bike electrics any good either . Jimbo you may think it's a bit ott but hey ho . Me first reply was a bit of light banter as we are in the lounge for general banter & piss taking etc lol

It's nice to think your bikes all warm and toasty when you look outside and see the frost. Bought mine a pipe and slippers for Christmas to! :)

Bring on the banter.... Fair play mate, but my bikes are in a non heated garage and can't say they've gone rusty. Nor my tools either but they are rarely used ;) but it can't do it no harm ey

You do have a crew chief to keep on top of em and make sure the tools when used get used properly! :D

We'll gloss over the non-compliance on the electrics then............

I really hope it wouldn't happen to anyone, but the irony of trying to keep ya bike toasty and burning it to ashes through dodgy electrics really does tickle me....

    sorry

Please explain the "dodgy" electrics? Was all done by a qualified sparky of 35 yrs. out of site is the consumer unit with circuit breakers etc. and it's wired to a thermostat the tube heater. Which by my formula reckoning is pulling 1 amp !

I'm assuming the cables should be inside some conduit plastic or metal on the wall. However if you think it's dodgy sinewave (being a sparky ) please enlighten me

    If U insist! [IMG]

The T/E cable feeding the Metal Clad outlet for the heater has no mechanical protection in an area designated likely to suffer from possible impact damage of medium severity (AG2) BS7671 17th Ed Wiring Regs 2008

20mm Conduit is the preferred method of achieving this if using T/E or singles and is also a standard termination preference in to Metal Clad accessory outlets.

Any 30mA RCD/RCBO protection for this Radial circuit per chance? ;)
