I was wondering if anyone has had a claim recently and if your premiums went up by much and do the insurance companies stop that policy because you have made a claim and you have to restart another policy again or does it still continue...... i do have protected no claims but have other vehicles and don't them to go up as well Never made a claim before ... hit a bird you know the rest wondering if to claim or fix myself
Repsol front fairing, lights, speedo bracket and a couple bits of plastic at the side that's just about it and do Honda do a replacement fingers i have got 3 of the sore f...ers
Bird strike should mean they will repair the bike and you pay excess, you should then keep that policy running. You will have to tell the insurer about any claims next time you renew but it will go up, probably not by much I'd repair if it was under or near the excess if its well over use the cover .... You paid for it also you will only lose this years no claims so will retain what you started with if that makes sense
Let them pay even if it goes up by £300 next year or more you quids in And it won't, we all pay them to help us out during times like these, would be nice to think its because it's worth it and not just for a piece of paper !
Yup agree let them pay it though you will have a compulsory excess, it won't be anywhere near what it'll cost for those repairs.
I claimed on my bike insurance last year. Protected no claims on both bike and car. The bike insurance wasn't any more expensive the car insurance went up slightly but insurance is always going up anyway. You have to declare the claim on all your vehicles but you still put down 9 years as your NCB entitlement. Protected no claims is definitely worth it. Your policy might not have a voluntary excess but I bet there is a compulsory excess, the minimum I found was £500 so that might make a difference as to wether it's worth claiming. Check the small print.
