Gave by bike it's first proper clean and wax with the ol' swissol and it's lookin lovely and smells decent now (I think the dealer washed it using an old sweaty pair of pants as the wash rag ). My question is around cleaning the rear tyre of chain lube. I used to use Parrafin on my CBR6 and R1, but wondered if there was anything better to use nowadays? I used to use rubber gloves when using parrafin. It used to freak me out that I'm putting this stuff near my reat tyre and the gloves are fall apart halfway through ...
I just spray some Motul chain cleaner onto a cloth and wipe it that way. Then seal it with poorboys wheel wheel sealer
I don't get it on my tyres, I use a paddock stand and when I spay lube on I hold a rag behind where I'm spraying and then leave the lube on when I put my bike away after wiping up any missed points. When I next get it out I give the chain a wipe to remove excess. This means you only get spray on the rim and not the tyre.
I have found Auto Glym Motorcycle Degreaser is very good. Then just polish the wheel again afterwards.

Parrafin and a brush ( old tooth brush works well) to remove the crap and as rich has posted Wurth dry chain lube is the best I Have used . I have other chain lubes but don't touch them as Wurth gets all my ££
I use a wet lube after a big scrub of the chain to make sure I get the penetration, clean off the excess and then use Wurth dry lube also over it and for weekly cleans.
It may soud odd and strange, but car cockpit cleaner /shiner do miracles in cleaning/degreasing motorcycle wheels...give it a try you'll not be disappointed...
Yep, a simple wipe with WD-40 cleans it all away, then a bit of polish and your done. Not a big job at all, and no need for all these fancy liquids and potions.
