Should have changed oil on my 2007 blade last year but didn't get round to it - did today and wringing as much oil out the engine and filter only managed 1l of very black stuff - bad me! New Honda filter and 3.1l of Castrol synthetic, hope it forgives me! Had a few blips of the oil light the other day whilst revving on side stand but nothing whilst riding, just enough to keep it going I guess. Feel so bad might go and wash the bike now!!!
That's crazy. Makes me feel better about losing a couple of hundred millilitres on a track day and worrying! I guess these engines can take a battering.
They can burn oil a bit, but should have checked it more! Laziness really, no excuse! Done now though. Lost about 2l in 5000 miles - had actually been 3 years since oil change and did more miles than thought - bad me!
mine uses a bit, i try and check it as often as i remember, but i also drive a BMW v8, so am well used to pouring oil into it, two litres at a time, not 300ml like the blade
