After getting dismal mileage but superb grip from S20's on my 2012 Fireblade I thought I'd try Bridgestone T30's. I took the bike out to scrub in the new tyres and they felt every bit as good as the S20's. I rode up a small road that I've ridden many times though never on the Honda. In the few thousand miles I've done on the bike I've been very impressed by just how stable the front end feels - never a hint of a wobble. This all changed on Sunday. This road is particularly bumpy and while I was tramping on, I wasn't being too silly. All of a sudden the suspension appeared to lose the plot resulting in the closest thing to a tank slapper I've had in a long time. It didn't particularly worry me but it's made me a little more wary of quick riding on bumpy surfaces. It's one of these things that could probably be ironed out with a bit of fiddling but up till now the suspension has seemed superb. The rear tyre is 190/55 (ordered 55 by mistake) which I'm aware will quicken the steering a little.

    Any thoughts/similar experiences?

It will be the 55 profile tyre ... You've raised the rear of the bike to improve steering but at expense of stability over rough surfaces ...
