Although it seems to be recommened i have done it a few times and its all good .However i am still not sure if there is no potential damage caused by not using the clutch.Any skilled fitters out there with a technical answer?

Bugger that. My box is clunky enough with the clutch.

well you can buy a quick shifter for clutchless up shifts, granted they are for full throttle upshifts but if changing with out a clutch is harmless then i doubt people would buy buying these.

I'm no expert but using the clutch is probably cheaper than replacing the clutch. its not as if its a pain to use or anything

Some do some don't. Always use the clutch for down shift. After my track day I was told not to use the clutch for upshifting and worked well. Not doing tHe same on the road. But do it when using more revs as not enough seem to make it clunky. And again told it does not damage the clutch

Usually when riding fast I don't use the clutch for upshifts. Just apply a bit of pressure under the gear change and blip the throttle!

No clutch here as well. You don't need it, match revs and it's smooth as.

I dont even use the clutch for unshifting when comuting into London. I've ridden like that for ages, and if anything, I'd say I'd reduces clutch wear, as it's used 50% less.
The fueling on the blade is soo good, you can do it at any rev range.

i never use the clutch going up the box ever. its much smoother without the clutch and doesn't hurt the gearbox at all

    +1 for the clutchless upshifts.

I read a few years ago how they were better for the gearbox (although can't remember specifically why now!), and once you get the hang of them they feel so much better than when using the clutch.

I'm not a "skilled fitter", but can tell you that clutchless upshifts done correctly will not damage the bike in any way.

Blip the throttle for a clutchless up shift..........interesting as i do the complete opposite and roll off very slightly click her in and then wind it on

surely blipping with no clutch would just lurch you forward Alan

been doing many more clutch less up-shifts and the Bazzaz quick shifter is fun and sounds nice.
