Going to buy a Yoshi R77 or Akrapovic end can for my 2013 Fireblade, only want to fit end can for cosmetic and sound reasons. Can you help with a few questions-

    1. When ordering Can do I have to ask for a de-cat pipe or do the above pipes get rid of CAT?
    2. There will be no need for a Power Commander with these pipes- is that correct?
    3. From forums was told will need an 'S' bend pipe to maintain power, do the above pipes have 'S' bends?
    4. Don't want to go to a Dyno etc just want to attach Can and ride, with no power loss or rough running, will the above Cans do this?

    Any info appreciated

Both of the above do make a version with and without a cat so its best to make sure when ordering

its correct that you dont NEED to fit a power commander but its advisable to do so

yes both exhausts do have the s-bend link pipe

both exhausts will not loose power and will be relatively smooth but i will say again your bike will be much better off if you do fit a power commander

I thought the CAT sat before the link pipe?

I know it does on my 07....so from that you wouldn't need to worry about the cat parts, would you? :s

No on the 08+ models the cat is in the exhaust not the link pipe

To be more specific , on 08+, the S-bend link pipe is the de-cat pipe. The cat version replaces the s-bend link pipe with a big metal boxy thingy with the cat in it.

Agree with all the above and think you will get a lumpy idle most likely and would definitely recommend fitting a PCV or if not have the baffle fitted.

I'm taking a bit of a punt thinking the aftermarket can with the baffle fitted would be more similar in gas flow to a standard can therefore reducing the need slightly for a PCV.....

thanks for all the info, don't know anything about PC's, but if I didn't go for one then the engine would run a bit rough until I was on it and then wouldn't notice- Is that correct? Without a PC would the bike cut out and stall at low revs? or without one would I damage the engine? Also are they hard to install? I can take an engine apart and put it back together again but I hate electrics- soldering etc thanks

On a similar note, I've just ordered an Akrapovic end can for my '09 blade. Is there an aftermarket piece of fairing which fills the gap left by the stock exhaust?

Sorry to butt in on your post kidder1000!

Just to put things into perspective here, the bike might run a little rough without a pc but still not ducati rough lol

It will not cut out or stall at low revs but it is possible that running an aftermarket exhaust with no baffle can cause the engine to run lean and thus creating the potential for engine damage

the pc is very easy to fit. just plug and play, no splicing of wires ect required
