Ok, I'm looking to change my coolant soon and was wondering what people use.

The bike is only ever used on the road so no need for any fancy stuff.

Anyone know if the Halfords ready mixed Red coolant is any good for bikes?

Halfords | Halfords Ready Mixed Antifreeze & Coolant 5 Litres

I only ask as you can get 5 litres of their coolant for £20 ;) (obviously not interested if it's no good though).

Halfords is a rip-off! just go to your local motor factors (you are paying for the water in the mix)

Got a friend who says he can get me one for trade price ;)

Thanks Jamie, i've seen the Castrol & Motul coolant for £6-£8 a litre. Just thought with the Halfords stuff I'd be getting a litre free.

Yep in ready mix too_Own branded ready mixed stuff from halfords I've come across as very weak especially their screenwash.Last year I replaced 3 washer bottles that were split through not enough screenwash antifreeze and all 3 customers used halfords ready mixed screenwash.

    posted on another thread

how much coolant do you need to change the coolant ? Anyone got a step by step guide with pics on how to do it ?

Is the coolant changed as standard on the 4k or 8k service ?

You need about 3.5 litres of ready mixed mate.

I guess that my 954 being 10 years old should not need any special type of coolant due to its age etc, and will that Comma stuff be ok ?
