Guys, I've purchased a Racefit Black Edition exhaust for a very nice price on fleabay and now I've got to fit the thing. Here's the problem.......I don't know how. After reading Lambchops' thread I would feel ashamed if I got someone to do it for me. I'm hoping instructions will be included...... Does anyone have any tips???? Always grateful for any advice, maybe one day I'll be able to offer some of my own! Regards, Tug.
I would imagine that instructions would be available with the product. Do you have it yet? If you don't have anything with it have you checked with racefit itself?
First off take the seat off and disconnect the exhaust servo cable by turning the servo 90deg first to release the tension of the cable, the you can pull the cable and cover down and away from the housing thru the frame. You will then need to disconnect the lamba sensor, point to note count how many turns it takes to to move the sensor so you can twist it back that many times when fitting into new exhaust! Now undo the clamp that connects end can to the downpipes, then last of all you can loosen the bolt that holds the end can on the footpegs hanger and remove end can. Hope this helps
Think that’s about it tbh, only thing I'd add is they don't come with a clamp to connect to headers/downpipes. The fit should be snug, so not required. The in fill panel should be self explanatory, much easier than my mates yoshi to fit. I bought mine new, no instructions either. Start her up and get ready for the neighbours to knock- Lol, remember when I did mine, took all of five minutes before I heard screaming at my garage door!
Had to chuckle to myself thinking back after riding behind Dave V on a ride out one friday night with the Kent posse. He used to rev it up and frighten anybody in his path, I never laughed so much.My ears are still ringing now months after!!
Lol- Wonder if Racefit could amend their marketing to include "the only can that can make jublies bounce"
LMAO it was comical to see em bounce. The expression on their faces and the fist waving in the mirror.
Holts fire gum was usefull stuff when I just fitted my full arrow race system. Its like a tube of toothpaste you just smear it round the joints before slipping the new can on. The exhaust heat sets it. Good stuff coz its flexible and at £4 from halfords a bargain. Dont forget to clean the interfacing surfaces with emery or such like first.
